MOCK DISASTER TRAINING
On Wednesday, May 12, 2010 a retired bus will be staged at USU to simulate a bus rollover and emergency disaster scenario. The Cache Valley Transit District (CVTD) along with USU Aggie Shuttle
and Parking Services are sponsoring a spring conference for the Utah Urban Rural and Specialized Transportation Association on May 13, 14, 2010. The two day draining will include a mock bus rollover
for emergency response and evacuation, fire extinguisher training and a driver simulator.
With support from the Logan City Fire Department, USU Fire, and the Cache County Sherriff’s office, transportation agencies statewide will receive professional training to assist them
in the event of a disaster.
URSTA is a statewide organization with membership comprised of over 45 transportation related agencies by providing training, education, advocacy and networking for transit providers and their
employees in Utah and surrounding states.
