FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CACHE VALLEY TRANSIT DISTRICT RIBBON CUTTING EVENT
WITH SENATOR BENNETT

On Tuesday, August 25, 2009 the Cache Valley Transit District will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of a new addition to their administrative building offices. The ceremony begins at 10:30 am located at CVTD administrative offices 754 W 600 N, Logan.

Scheduled to speak at the ceremony is Senator Bob Bennett, UDOT’s Public Transit Plans & Programs Director Leone Gibbons and Charmaine Knighton, Deputy Regional Administrator from the FTA.

Funding for this project was provided by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. "CVTD was the first transit agency in the state to get their ARRA application in and this building addition is a great example of what ARRA funding was meant to do, create and support jobs in the local area." said Mark Daines, President of the Board of Trustees for CVTD. The total cost of the project was $210,000. The project provided work for 33 local workers.

The new addition created 5 new offices to the administration building. President, Mark Daines said, "We are very happy to have this addition completed for the CVTD staff, it has been needed for several years".

CVTD is partnering with the Cache Chamber of Commerce for this event. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting event.
