Cache Valley Transit District Looks back on 16 years of
service at annual stakeholders meeting:
lays out goals for future
February 20, 2009 - Recently Cache Valley Transit District held its annual year in review meeting which is attended by their board and
city and county elected officials. 2008 marked the 16 year anniversary of serving the Cache Valley area for CVTD.
CVTD reported that their safety record for 2008 was ranked in the top 5% of the nation along with statistics showing that through 2008 ridership grew by
over 14%.
Mark Daines, Board President, laid out some fundamental goals they have for CVTD including remaining a fare free transit system, supporting efforts to
improve air quality and improve service with minimized wait times and marinating timely transfers.
President Daines spoke of the event by adding, "We are so excited to see the continued growth of CVTD along with the knowledge that our growth means more
citizens are utilizing this great resource. We have come a long way in 16 years and we are looking forward to the 16 to come."
CVTD also laid out specific short term goals of: better educating the public of the benefits of the transit system in the community and continued
community involvement; as well as long term goals of providing services to other transportation systems outside of CVTD and ensuring future growth with
sufficient infrastructure.
