SNOW ROUTE

The CVTD works in all kinds of weather to provide safe, reliable, and convenient service. In some cases, this means using alternate routings. Because of variable conditions from one period of inclement weather to another, snow routes and detours are used. This information is available from drivers, and through radio station announcements. You may also call the CVTD ’s telephone information number 435-752-BUSS (2877).

To ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers, the CVTD has established the following snow routes during winter weather conditions and may not operate these areas. The routes listed below are subject to change.

Routes 1 & 4 - USU
Routes 3 & 10 - Temple Hill, Cliffside & River Heights
Franklin County Connection - Preston

TIPS FOR THE COLD AND SNOWY WEATHER

Whether or not your bus is on a snow route, there are general rules to follow in snowy and icy conditions

  • If your stop is on a hill, wait for the bus at the bottom or top of the hill, not in the middle.
  • When tow trucks, plows, or sanders are blocking a portion of the street near your stop, walk to the nearest stop on a clear street.
  • If your road is clear, do not assume that it is clear everywhere. Your destination may be snowy and your bus could be on a snow route.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to get to the bus stop in the snow. Your bus may be late during inclement weather, so dress warmly and please be patient.
  • When you see the bus, step back from the curb onto the sidewalk or grass. Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop, then approach the door.
  • The floor of the bus may be slippery. Please use caution.
  • Buses may run late in the snow. Please anticipate that it may take longer for friends and loved ones to make it home on the bus.
